While studying viola and organ in Basel, Conrad Zwicky had the opportunity to attend composition lessons with the renowned composer Robert Suter. Suter’s collegial and fatherly manner gave the still young pupil a developmental boost that initiated numerous works for organ.

Later, Conrad Zwicky occupied himself with choral, string and chamber music works. The “Orchestral Etudes”, promoted by his friend and colleague János Balkányi with the Zurich String Soloists, were performed in numerous concerts and festivals, such as Spring Festival Budapest and Festival de Santander (Spain), the “Duo for Two Violins” was often played by Igor and Jana Karsko, the “Fables after Aesop” were performed by Noriko Kawamura, violin, Fumio Shirato, double bass and Oleg Lips, accordion, in Europe and Japan.

The most recent acclaimed performances: in August 2011 “Concerto for Double Bass and Strings” in the music festivals of Kolobrzeg and Koszalin (Poland), in February 2012: “Orchestral Etudes” in Soeul and Incheon (South Korea), performed by the ZHdK-Strings Zurich and on 10 July 2015 the Concerto for Organ, String Orchestra, Two Horns and Timpani (2015).
